Learn MoreHow we work a chimney in Bell Gardens
Close to 3 in 10 Bell Gardens homes are older than 1950, the age when chimneys were laid brick by brick on site. Mortar wears on those, and duplexes along the corridors can share a stack, so it pays to climb. 1933 hit this part of the county hard, damaging unreinforced masonry along the Newport-Inglewood Fault. Any brick that survived also takes winter rain from November to April, which tests aging crowns, joints and flashing.
What We Check on the Roof
Unreinforced brick with worn mortar, plus flashing and crowns tested each rainy season.
What the Same Crew Fixes
Joints repointed and crowns rebuilt by the workers who first went up to look at them.
Brush Work Here
