Learn MoreHow we work a chimney in Pasadena
Pasadena is known for Craftsman homes, and over a third of its housing predates 1950. An older stack there deserves a careful climb before anything else. Hastings Ranch has plainer postwar chimneys, and condos downtown bring different setups again. A windstorm in December 2011 caused wide tree damage here, and Santa Anas can still pull at a weak cap. Pasadena lost buildings to the Eaton Fire, and the Raymond Fault moved in 1988, so caps and cracked brick both get close attention.
What We Check on the Roof
Original Craftsman brick, cracks tied to the Raymond Fault, and caps loosened in severe wind.
What the Same Crew Fixes
Old brick is reset and caps replaced by the crew whose photos you looked over first.
Brush Work Here
Craftsman-era flues brushed by hand at a careful pace, with soot cleared off the shelf.
Next Door
We also climb roofs in South Pasadena, Arcadia, La Canada Flintridge.
