Learn MoreHow we work a chimney in Hawthorne
Most Hawthorne households rent, and detached houses are just over 1 home in 4. The bungalows and tract homes that went up with aviation work may still have brick or block stacks, though many have gone over to gas logs. Damp marine air slowly rusts bare steel caps and flashing, and it keeps masonry crowns wet. Freezes rarely matter here, but with the Newport-Inglewood Fault close by to the east, we look for cracks across the brick too.
What We Check on the Roof
Rusted steel caps and flashing, wet crowns, and any crack that crosses the brick.
What the Same Crew Fixes
Rusted caps replaced and joints fixed by the South Bay crew that first looked at them.
Brush Work Here
Bungalow and tract flues brushed by hand, even those now running on gas logs.
Next Door
We also climb roofs in Gardena, Manhattan Beach, El Segundo.
